Saturday 8th July - we have just been informed that the Royal Albert Hall have cancelled all concerts until at least the end of October. We will be contacting those of you who have booked this package in the coming week to arrange refunds.

As the conclusion to his Mahler Cycle with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and with the combined forces of his 'new' orchestra the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, Vasily will conduct this unique performance of Mahler's "Symphony of a Thousand" at the Royal Albert Hall.

Even by Mahler’s standards, his ‘Symphony of a Thousand’ is a work of immense proportions. A titanic performance of this rarely heard masterpiece awaits you, as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, eight soloists, three choruses, two children’s choirs, an organ and two brass bands.

The performance is at 3pm on the afternoon of Sunday 18th October and we are pleased to be able to offer an exclusive one day visit travelling on the new 'First/Trenitalia' service from Liverpool Lime Street, Runcorn, Chester & Preston (other departure points on request) departing around 9am to London and then transfer by private coach to the Gloucester Road area of Kensington for free time for lunch, before walking the short distance to the Royal Albert Hall for the performance. Our top price seats are in the banked stalls and arena area.

After the performance we will return by coach to Euston for the journey back to the northwest to arrive around 9pm.

As this concert is expected to sell out quickly the initial booking deadline is 31st December so we encourage you to book right away. Full payment is due at the time of booking. If you have to cancel you can do so for £50 up until 31st March. Thereafter the package is non-refundable unless we can resell your place in which case we will just charge a £30 admin fee.

Thank you for a marvellous two weeks in Chicago and New York. We cannot believe that we managed to do so much - all the sightseeing, meals and the concerts, theatres, opera and not least the Jazz Club. It is hard to say which was the most memorable performance since they were all excellent, but, if we had to pick just one it would be the final night at Carnegie Hall - breathtakingly beautiful. The most memorable meal was the one at the Chicago University Club - stunning views and wonderful food.
