Join us this June for 4 nights in the wonderful city of Bordeaux when Maestro Domingo Hindoyan conducts Mahler's 7th Symphony the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. Our visit includes two other musical highlights - an evening with Jazz bass legend Stanley Clarke and a late afternoon concert with the Bordeaux National Opera Academy accompanied by young singers from the La Scala Academy, Milan in the beautiful setting of the Grand Cru Classé Estate at Château de Ferrand, Saint-Émilion.
We hit Bordeaux during a major conference but we have managed to secure accommodation at the StayCity Aparthotel situated close to the pedestrianised centre of the city and less than 10 minutes walk to the riverfront. We have well-equiped king bedded studios with shower & kitchen area for sole use (16 sq metres) and slightly larger studio's with king or twin beds for double or twin occupancy (19 sqm). Buffet breakfast is included each morning.
We start with a walking tour and introduction to Bordeaux - iconic sights like the Miroir d'Eau, historic Place de la Bourse, and the wine museum La Cite du Vin, alongside vibrant markets including Marché des Capucins
We spend a day outside of the city visiting the Atlantic beaches and Medoc then have a free day to explore at your own pace on Saturday.
On Sunday we leave Bordeaux late morning to Saint-Émilion for a visit and lunch before we continue on to Château de Ferrand, for a concert at 5pm with the Bordeaux National Opera Academy accompanied by young singers from the La Scala Academy, Milan.
The concert is followed by a drinks reception before we join our coach at 7pm for the drive to Bordeaux Airport and our late evening light back to the UK.
