We are currently working on the programme for the remainder of 2016 which will be published on our website at the end of November
Our tour plan includes …..
• In the Steps of Chopin (May 27th – June 11th) our popular tour (which we devised in 1995) follows the life of Chopin starting in Warsaw, continuing to Paris and on to the hamlet of Nohant (where he lived with George Sand) and finally to Mallorca where they spent a fateful winter.
• Martha Argerich & friends, Lake Lugano (late June) each year the world-renowned pianist invites a group of her musician friends to the beautiful lakeside setting of Lugano. We stay in the charming lakeside hamlet of San Mamete on the Italian side of the lake and include three or four concerts.
• Puccini Festival & our Super Tuscan holiday (early August) the lakeside setting of Torre del Lago provides the perfect setting for the Puccini Opera Festival. We stay in the spa town of Montecatini Terme and visit Siena, San Gimignano and Lucca during our stay. Half board included throughout and direct flights to Pisa
• Oslo & Bergen – season opening (late August/early September) we hear that Maestro Petrenko has something exciting and unique happening in Oslo at the beginning of September and we are working on an itinerary to include the performances and also to see some more of Norway.
• Opera at La Fenice, Venice (early October) we last went to Venice in 2013 and had a week of great weather. Our aim is to show you the lesser known areas of this wonderful city – some only a few hundred metres from San Marco but far from the madding crowd. The visit is topped off with two performances at La Fenice – a jewel of an opera house, and a gala dinner in the Palazzo where Richard Wagner spent his final months.
• Opera at Glyndebourne (mid October) Our 2015 visit is on sale now. For Autumn 2016 we will have performance details and confirmed dates in May.
• Turin – a pre-Christmas visit (mid December) Perhaps the most sophisticated of Italian cities and capital of Piemonte Torino is home to great food & wine as well as a superb opera house (lead by Gianandrea Noseda) and an excellent symphony orchestra.
