JUST 2 PLACES REMAINING
We have received access to tickets for the Wiener Staatsoper Ring Cycle in June.
The cycle is to be conducted by Phillipe Jordan and has an excellent cast including Lise Davidsen as Sieglinde, Andreas Shager singing both Siegmund and Siegfried, Iain Patterson as Wotan/Wanderer, Anja Kampe as Brünnhilde and Jochen Schmeckenbeche as Alberich.
The Cycle will be spread over a 9-night period so we will need a 10-night stay in the city. We will stay at the 4* Hotel am Konzerthaus (which has been our hotel of choice for the past 10 years and was completely refurbished in 2021). This is an easy 12 – 15 minute walk (850m) to the Opera House and if we encounter inclement weather we will arrange taxis for the transfer.
Whilst this is long stay in Vienna, we think it gives an opportunity to really explore not only the city and its superb galleries, but also to head out of the city to visit (amongst others):
- Beethoven in Heiligenstadt
- Haydn in Rohrau and at the Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt
- Schubert at Atzenbrugg
- the beautiful spa at Baden bei Wien
June should also give us the chance to enjoy some meals outside the city in the heurigers of Grinzing & the Vienna Woods.
As we already have the programmes for the Musikverein, Konzerthaus and Volksoper for this period we will offer an immediate ‘ticket service’ at face value for any additional tickets that you would like to purchase for the non-Ring nights.
As well as having meals included for 5 evenings (inc Rheingold) we will arrange canape plates for Die Walküre & Siegfried and a farewell supper after Götterdämmerung (so there will be just two evening to ‘do your own thing’).
We have flights from Heathrow or Manchester (other cities on request) and if you prefer to make your own way to Vienna you can deduct £300 from the tour cost.
£1250 deposit (plus any ticket upgrade)
Balance payment is due 1st April 2025.
