Start your pre-Christmas cheer with two nights in the luxurious setting of a deluxe room at the Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool. The centrepiece of our break will be the Farewell Recital of internationally renowned pianist Kathryn Stott while we will also include a private screening of One Life starring Sir Anthony Hopkins telling the story of Nicholas Winton and how he saved 669 children from Prague on the eve of World War II. The screening will be followed by dinner with Milena Grenfell-Baines – who, as many of you will know, was one of those children. You can see the official trailer for the film here:

On our second evening we have secured tickets at the Tung Auditorium, Yoko Ono Lenon Centre at the University of Liverpool. Tonight will be a unique and moving occassion as we attend the last ever public performance by renowned pianist Kathryn Stott. Since the 1970s, the Kathryn's artistry has won the hearts of audiences across the world. Her collaboration as a chamber musician has seen her record more than 40 CDs across her career including 5 with the legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Now she’s decided to retire from concert performance and concentrate on her work with young musicians. For this, her final public concert, she comes home to the place where it all began: Liverpool. Her concert this evening is entitled Musical Postcards and has a wonderful programme of music:

Our deluxe rooms at the Hope Street Hotel feature both walk-in shower and soaking tub as well as complimentary mineral water and a Nespresso machine. Breakfast is included each morning.
We have pick-up from our usual departure points (see Booking Link) with local transfers provided for our sightseeing and concert in Liverpool.
