BOOK THIS TOUR

Following the popularity and success of our autumn visits to Criccieth since 2021 we return in Spring, staying four nights at the 4* Caerwylan Hotel. Criccieth was recently described by the Sunday Times as "a proper Welsh rare bit: mountains, sea, porpoises and a prom". We think so too! We have a fantastic weekend of music lined up as well as excellent sightseeing around some of the wonders of North Wales.

We are delighted that the excellent Liverpool Mozart Orchestra have agreed to come to play at Criccieth Memorial Hall during our stay and we are very happy to have sponsored this concert. The programme includes Beethoven's 7th Symphony and Judith Weir's Planet. The orchestra will be joined by the outstanding pianist Luke Jones who performs Schumann Piano Concert Op. 54

On Friday evening we head to Prichard Jones Hall at Bangor University for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales who peform with superstar saxophonist Jess Gillam and Maestro Christoph König in a programme including Anna Clyne's Glasslands and Shostakovich's 9th Symphony. We are also arranging an event with renowned Brythoniaid Male Voice Choir who are based in Blaenau Ffestiniog and this year celebrate their 60th anniversary.

During our days we will take a trip on the wonderful Welsh Highland Railway and pay a visit to the Italianate fantasy of Portmeirion. We will also get to taste some of North Wales' unique wines during our stay and make a spring visit (fingers crossed!) to Bodnant Gardens on our return to the northwest.

The Caerwylan Hotel looks directly over Cardigan Bay and the Castle and is arranged over three floors. The hotel has a small elevator however there are some steps to all of the rooms! We have taken over the entire hotel for the weekend so we have a selection of rooms (all ensuite and many with walk-in shower). Rooms range from cosy but well appointed singles and standard doubles or twins (with views to the town or castle) through to Superior Sea Facing (just three of them on the 3rd floor) and Executive Sea Facing (on the 1st & 2nd floors). Frances, Michael and their team have given us three wonderful stays previously with top quality food & service and we are confident that you will enjoy the experience in 2025.

Coach transfers (and feeders) are included from our usual pick-up points and also Chester Station which can be reached directly from London and the rest of the West Coast Mainline.

Full payment is due at the time of booking.

Criccieth 2023 - May I thank all concerned for our wonderful time in Wales. The hotel, delicious food, interesting visits, marvellous opera, splendid company and even the weather, all so perfectly organised. As always Ben's skilled driving made the travelling so relaxing and enjoyable.
BG, Formby
