Join us in July for a return to the wonderful settings of the Getty Estate at Wormsley, Kilworth House Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company for a combination of two 5* productions - Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at Garsington Opera and Singin' in the Rain at the Kilworth Summer Theatre and a brand new production of Sheridan’s brilliantly biting comedy of manners - The School for Scandal Add to that 3 nights in Stratford upon Avon
We stay three nights at the Doubletree By Hilton just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stratford upon Avon and 10 minutes to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. There will two free mornings in Stratford to explore and enjoy the town.
After dinner at the hotel, our first evening will be spent at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre with stalls seats for a new production of The School for Scandal - After Shakespeare but long before Bridgerton, there was The School for Scandal! This new production — styled to the nines with period flair — promises an exuberant feast of big wigs and even bigger laughs.
At Garsington, their legendary John Cox production of Le nozze di Figaro returns with Robert Perdziola’s beautiful design, first seen at Garsington Manor. Cox’s elegant traditional staging brings the characters to life with humanity and empathy. At its heart is the wonder of Mozart with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Tabita Berglund, praised for her visionary and energetic Mozart interpretations.
Meanwhile at Kilworth, Laurence Olivier Award Winner for Best Musical Revival in 2001, Singin’ In The Rain features all the songs from the glorious MGM score including Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh, You Stepped Out Of A Dream, You Are My Lucky Star and the show-stopping Singin’ in the Rain
