We had a full complement of guests booked to travel to Prague with Milena Grenfell-Baines in 2020 but the pandemic meant that wasn't possible. We are delighted that Milena has agreed to join Ken and return to Prague once again in late April for 5 nights at the 4* art-nouveau Hotel Central situated just 100 metres from the beautifully restored Obecní Dům (the Municipal House containing Smetana Hall), Powder Tower and entry to the Old Town area.
Highlights of the five day visit include an invitation to a closed dress-rehearsal with the Czech Philharmonic and Maestro Semyon Bychkov (Shostakovich 7th Symphony); Prokofiev's Cinderella with the Czech National Ballet; the renowned pianist Olga Kern performing Gershwin & Rachmaninov with Maestro Leonard Slatkin and the Prague Symphony Orchestra plus some more surprises to come.
We are also delighted to be able to present a private recital in Milena's honour by the Canadian pianist Avan Yu (who some of you will have met before during performances in Berlin, New York and at CHET). Milena first presented Avan at the International Chopin Festival, Mariánské Lázně almost 20 years ago.
