BOOKING DEADLINE IS FRIDAY 25TH JUNE 2021.

We will stay for five nights at the new 3* Adina ApartHotel located in the heart of the historic centre just five minutes walk from the opera house. The hotel is voted #2 in Leipzig by Tripadvisor and has over 90% 4 & 5* reviews. We have chosen the Adina, as apart from having a swimming pool, the facilities are helpful for the odd hours that a complete Ring requires! Each studio (approx 28 sq metres) has queen or twin beds, lounge area with sofa, fully equiped kitchen with fridge, stove & microwave, flat screen TV, individual air-conditioning, soundproofed windows and washing machine & dryer. Buffet breakfast is included each morning.

Leipzig oozes musical history at every turn. From its musical heritage of J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, Clara & Robert Schumann, Mahler and of course Wagner to the mighty Gewandhaus Orchestra it is once again a city full of life, music and superb architecture. The miraculous transformation during the 1990s and early 21st century saw the restoration, cleaning and rebuilding of the heart of the city with smart shops, cafés, and a wide range of restaurants. The city has a wonderful array of museums, including the Fine Arts Museum in a spectacular new building, and many with musical association including the Mendelssohn Haus, Schumann Haus, Bach Haus & Archive and a fascinating Museum of Musical Instruments (with no less than 9000 musical instruments, historical recording media and special collections) house in the Grassi Museum.

Music Director Ulf Schirmer leads the Gewandhaus Orchestra and a line up of noted Wagnerian artists including: Markus Brück, Evelyn Herlitzius, Jennifer Holloway, Lise Lindstrom, Meagan Miller, Allison Oakes, Daniela Sindram, Manuela Uhl, Markus Eiche, René Pape, Iain Paterson, Andreas Schager, Elisabet Strid, Stefan Vinke, Klaus Florian Vogt and Michael Volle.
