The Royal Shakespeare Company have just announced their production of The Comedy of Errors in their newly created Garden Theatre at Stratford. We think this 'addition' to our package is too good to miss so we will now depart the Northwest on Tuesday 3rd August and enjoy three nights in the beautiful setting of the Coombe Abbey Hotel & Gardens.

The schedule will now be:

Tuesday 3rd August – Coach travel from the northwest to Coombe Abbey and check in for three nights. Late afternoon transfer (40 minutes) to Stratford for two course pre-performance meal with wine. Performance at 630pm – 30 minute interval and ends at 9pm transfer back to hotel. All seating at Stratford is open air but we are sure the great British summer will prevail for us (and if not we will provide Maestro ponchos!).

Wednesday 4th August – Breakfast at the hotel and morning free. Transfer around 130pm to the historic estate at Nevill Holt and again a newly created outdoor performance stage (our seating is premium covered grandstand (£175 per person).

We will be present for the opening night of this years production of La Traviata with our friends from the Manchester Camerata providing the orchestra.

The performance starts at 330pm and there is a 90 minute dinner interval from 430 – 6pm. We have arranged dinner with wines in the Kitchen Garden. The performance is expected to end around 730pm and we will then be transferred back to Coombe Abbey for our second night.https://www.nevillholtopera.co.uk/visit-us/dining

Thursday 5th August – Breakfast at the hotel and most of the day free to enjoy the facilities. At the moment because of existing Social Distancing rules Kilworth are not able to accommodate a group to dine but we expect that to change as we get closer. If not, we will have an early dinner with wines at Coombe Abbey and transfer (35 minutes) to Kilworth for their evening performance of Memories of the Musicials. Transfer back after the performances.

Friday 6th August -After breakfast we will leave the hotel around 11am and pay a visit to the beautiful Edwardian Arts & Crafts Movement house and gardens at Winterbourne before heading back to the northwest.

Kilworth's full-length show Memories of the Musicals features the very best songs from every one of the nineteen musicals produced at Kilworth House Theatre since the theatre opened in 2007. Six stars of the West End stage will sing and dance their way through songs from Kilworth’s fantastic back-catalogue supported by a live orchestra on stage.

There will be songs from Kilworth classics including My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, Me and My Girl, Singin’ In The Rain, Guys & Dolls, Top Hat and South Pacific as well as more recent work such as Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde, Joseph and Cats.

The change of date presents us with the opportunity to make our first visit to Nevill Holt Opera. For this unprecedented year, Nevill Holt are creating an outdoor stage with covered grandstand seating for a performance of La Traviata with the musicians of the Manchester Camerata performing the complete opera score.

Many thanks for the wonderful London weekend. We loved each concert, with each being a memorable experience. The choice of restaurants, the attention to detail and the company added to the weekend.
