In 2022 we are once again offering our 'Super-Tuscan' holiday based in the spa town of Montecatini Terme including performances of Turandot & Tosca at the open-air lakeside setting of Torre del Lago Puccini.
We stay 7 nights in Montecatini Terme where you can spend the mornings relaxing beside the pool of the Hotel Torretta or take a stroll across the park into the centre of the town. Hotel Torretta, owned and run by Dante Simoncini and his family, has been a favourite with Maestro clients for the past fourteen years.
The hotel is located besides the town's 'spa park', about 5 minutes stroll to the Terme Tettuccio and the funicolare that reaches the medieval hamlet of Montecatini Alto perched high above the town. It's a 10 minutes walk through the park into the heart of the town. Your stay is half board throughout and visits to Siena, San Gimignano & Lucca are included.
Our double rooms for single occupancy look over the garden while our double occpuancy and twin rooms overlook the pool. We have a limited number of pool view rooms for sole occupancy on request.
The 'Gran Teatro all'aperto Giacomo Puccini' is situated about 50 minutes drive from Montecatini at Torre del Lago Puccini in the idyllic lakeside setting where Puccini lived for much of his life. Our tickets are in the second category and in an excellent central position.
During our stay we also include a visit to Puccini's Villa at Torre de Lago, concert at the renowned Chigiana Summer Institute in Siena, a visit to San Gimignano, a gala farewell dinner (served poolside weather permitting) and a lunch in Dante's olive grove!
