UPDATED 17JAN24 with RSC information
Later in July we will make our first visit to the much praised Longborough Festival Opera set in the heart of the Cotswolds and just 30 minutes drive from Startford Upon Avon. In 2024 Longborough are creating a new production of Puccini's masterpiece La bohème.
Their 2024 production will be conducted by acclaimed conductor Alice Farnham and directed by movement specialist Sarah Fahie. Featuring outstanding international singers in the lead roles, our La bohème will showcase Longborough Emerging Artists (which Maestro are pleased to have supported this year and in 2024) in the roles of Musetta, Schaunard, Colline, Benoît and Alcindoro.
Our first evening will include dinner at the hotel before heading to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for their new production of Shakespeare's late 'tragicomedy' Pericles. This stirring tale of love, hope and miracles marks the RSC debut of Tamara Harvey, the Co-Artistic Director and stars Alfred Enoch in the title role.
Our second day will have a free morning in Stratford upon Avon before departing for Sudeley Castle & Gardens for a visit and lunchtime snack (payable locally) before continuing on to Longborough and our performance which begins at 5pm. We have dinner at Longborough in the long dinner interval.
Please note: The Doubletree does NOT have walk-in showers, only shower over low-sided baths.
Transfers from the usual Northwest pick-up points and all transfers to and from the performances are included. We have also included a pick-up from Birmingham International Station for any guests travelling from other parts of the country.
