Join us to blow away the winter blues and get 2020 off to a roaring start with all nine Beethoven Symphonies in one weekend at the Barbican performed by the UK's most outstanding orchestras - Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Hallé, CBSO, Royal Northern Sinfonia & Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Each concert will be presented by the renowned broadcaster, author and musicologist John Suchet and throughout the weekend there will be a range of talks and Beethoven related events to complete the Beethoven 250 experience. On Friday evening we will have a champagne reception & gala dinner at a private London Club to celebrate Maestro's 25th anniversary.

For convenience to the Barbican Centre and to give you a different view of the city our hotel for this stay will be the stylish Crowne Plaza London City which is directly opposite Blackfriars tube station on the north side of the Thames. This 4* 21st century hotel located in London's historic 'Square Mile' is built on the foundations of Henry VIII's former Bridewell Palace.  It's 5 minutes' walk to St Pauls and the Millennium Bridge and a really great location for discovering the "City of London" (contrasting with Westminster & Kensington where we usually stay for the Proms). Transfers to and from the Barbican are included at the start and end of the days concerts & activities at the Barbican and there is a direct bus service from Blackfriars to Barbican throughout the day if you want to return to the hotel at any time.

On Saturday the performances will be given by:

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kirill Karabits
City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko

while on Sunday the cycle will be completed with:
Royal Northern Sinfonia conducted by Lars Vogt
The Hallé
 conducted by Sir Mark Elder

Each day there wil be further Beethoven related events at the Barbican Centre and full details will be sent with your confirmation.
