Manchester Camerata on tour in Beijing & Shanghai with Gábor Takács-Nagy & Jean-Efflam Bavouzet

We are delighted to be able to offer a whistle-stop visit to China this September when Manchester Camerata perform in both Beijing and Shanghai. The tour includes three nights in Beijing and three in Shanghai (with the option to extend your stay or tailor it your precise requirements).

PRIORITY BOOKING DEADLINE - MONDAY 2ND JULY

In Beijing we stay at the 5* Grand Hyatt which has a perfect location in the heart of the city on the grand ceremonial Chiang’An Avenuea short distance (less than 2km) from the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and just a little further to the magnificent National Centre for the Performing Arts (known to all as The Egg).

In Shanghai we stay at the 5* Hyatt on the Bund which has an excellent location at the western end of the historic Bund riverside walk and spectacular views across the Huangpu River to 21^st century Pudong (an area which was literally paddy fields less than 20 years ago).

 The tour includes:

• 6 nights deluxe room from 11^th September inc. a superb hot & cold buffet breakfast
• Stall tickets for the Manchester Camerata concerts in both cities including transfers
• Rehearsal & Meet & Greet with Maestro Takács-Nagy & Jean-Efflam Bavouzet
• Two Celebration dinner with wines at Duck de Chine in Beijing and M on the Bund in Shanghai
• Bullet train 1st class between Beijing & Shanghai (4 hours 50 minutes)
• half day walking tour of Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Jingshan Park
• full day by private coach to Mutianyu section of the Great Wall plus lunch
  in Shanghai
• a stroll along the Bund on your first evening in Shanghai, dinner at M on the Bund
• two half day tours (inc. lunch one day) covering the French Concession, Xintiandi, Yu Gardens, contemporary art and the skyscrapers of Pudong
• Services of a Mandarin/English speaking tour manager (known personally to Maestro and experienced in working with orchestra VIP clients) throughout.

Air travel from Manchester or London is available at additional cost if required (see below).

Flight options (departing 10^th September):
You may prefer to make your own flight arrangements but if you need help let us know. Flights from Manchester or London departing on Monday 10^th September are currently available from £590 economy class; £2450 Business class (Emirates via Dubai); £662 economy; £1288 Premium Economy & £2800 Business (British Airways via Heathrow). Precise costs will be confirmed at the time of booking.

All flights are based on current non-refundable, non-changeable arrangements.

The orchestra will fly out with Emirates from Manchester via Dubai.

Tour costs (ground only – from arrival Beijing 11^th September)

• £1850 per person sharing a Grand King or Twin room in each city
• £2250 per person Grand King room, sole use.

Upgrade to Premier King Beijing and River View King £150 per person twin or king share & £270 for sole use.

The tour costs indicated above include a donation of £250 to the orchestra and we will include a Gift Aid form with your confirmation. Manchester Camerata is a charity, and this donation supports its leading work in the Community, which you can read more about here

The tour is based on a minimum of 10 participants. £500 deposit is required to secure your place. In the unlikely event of not having enough participants by Monday 2nd July then all moneys will be refunded in full. We very much hope to be able to proceed in which case full payment will be due 5th July.
